First 2017 “Sports Center ·Dehe Shengshi Cup” Badminton 

Invitational Tournament is to Begin

       The “Sports Center · Dehe Shengshi Cup” Badminton Invitational Tournament hosted by the Dalian Sports Center is to begin in the Damai Sports Culture Center (Dalian Sports Center - Gymnasium) and the Comprehensive Training Gymnasium.

       Twelve teams from various enterprises and institutions have entered for the Invitational Tournament, which involves three events: Men’s Single, Women’s Single and Mixed Team events, of which the Mixed Team event is made up of five sub-events: Men’s Single, Men’s Double, Women’s Single, Women’s Double and Mixed Double. Following the latest version of LAWS OF  BADMINTON approved by the General Administration of Sports, all the participating teams will first go through a Group Round-Robin before they can obtain the eligibility for the Cross Elimination. All games will adopt a fifteen-point the best of three system. The top eight of each event/sub-event will be awarded. In order to ensure openness, fairness and impartiality, the Liaoning Provincial Badminton Sports Management Center will delegate the Dalian Municipal Badminton Association to provide full support for running these events, including such matters as the training of all referees and coaches, choice of shuttlecocks and temporary referees. Owing to the meticulous efforts of the Sports Center in organizing and preparing for the tournament, this mass sports event is comparable to the standards of a professional one, whether in terms of its registration/sign-up procedures, its referee rule enforcement or its courts and facilities available.

       Ever since it was opened to the public, the Sports Center has hosted a number of badminton events organized by various enterprises and institutions, thus setting up a platform for mutual exchanges among the badminton fans across the city. By means of these brand-creating events, the Sports Center has further satisfied the requirements of citizens to engage in fitness activities, improved its brand effect, and effectively implemented the Universal Fitness Program to promote the sports and fitness activities throughout the city, setting off an upsurge of all citizens participating in fitness sports.

       The responsible official of the Sports Center told the correspondent that the purpose for sponsoring this large-scale mass badminton invitational tournament is to attract more and more citizens to respond to the national call for active participation in the universal fitness campaign so that more and more of them could fall in love with badminton and be good at it. Through these competitive games, people will benefit from a full-dimensional enhancement in their badminton skills, athletic abilities, physical constitution and contest experience. In the course of physical work-out one can enjoy the passion of sports, release physical and mental stresses, and enhance the qualities of life, so that more and more citizens will step into the Sports Center to get a feel of the charm radiated from the venue where International Class A Sports Events are to be held.
